Greetings. I'm Makana Eyre, an American journalist based in Paris. I write about politics, culture, and history for these publications. I also write a (mostly) weekly column for Honolulu Civil Beat. My first book was published in 2023 by W.W. Norton & Company. It was translated into Dutch by Thomas Rap and Italian by Newton Compton. I am a graduate of the Columbia Journalism School, and I teach journalism and media history at Sciences Po.
